We’re excited to announce a collaborative event between Nurture x TARRA on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 pm MST.

We’ll focus on self-care, including how it looks and feels, and work on redefining this concept to fit your lifestyle. Learn tools to allow your wellness to be a focus of every day, how to build mechanisms to move through the world in a refined way, AND to begin to live from a place of joy and ease.

Step 1: The inimitable Dr. Nikki Dority of Nurture kicks off the evening with a reimagination of self-care.

Step 2: You choose TWO breakouts that feel oh so good to you.

Step 3: We end the evening with a collective sigh and the tools to to take on a new path of self-care defined just for you

In this breakout, Willow Bradner will lead you through an exercise to let it all OUT!

Yelling and RELEASING all that’s been bottled up- makes room- Actual ROOM to wiggle out all that stifled energy.

  1. Dancing Your Way from Distressed Damsel to Daring Diva with Lucia DiVieste-Severtson

In this session, we will normalize anger and share the importance of expressing anger physically and vocally. When we crush it down and don't express it, we often contract physically and mentally. We make our bodies smaller and our thoughts tend to become constricted and small as well, making it difficult to see all the limitless possibilities.

Join Lucia as she conducts an experiential using dance and spoken word. You will have the chance to experience physically, mentally, and vocally transforming from a "distressed damsel" to a "daring diva.”

  1. Understanding Fight or Flight with your Vagal Tone with Rachelle Forsberg

Join Dr. Rachelle Forsberg as she leads us through an interactive workshop to optimize vagal tone and boost our resiliency in the face of stress. Our bodies are naturally tuned to respond to stress through the sympathetic ("fight or flight") nervous system. On the flip side, when the threat of danger has been resolved our parasympathetic ("rest and restore") nervous system returns us to our natural state of relaxation. This flip to "rest and restore" is mediated by the vagus nerve. Often times Dr. Forsberg hears from her patients that they feel totally stressed and exhausted but at the same time they cannot take a break. When stress has been a constant in our lives it can become difficult to shut down the fight or flight response and engage the rest and restore state that supports our healing and resilience. The reset and rewiring must begin in the brain: by supporting the vagus nerve. Dr. Forsberg will outline lifestyle, dietary, and herbal options to help promote a healthy state of balance in the nervous system and she will demonstrate self-acupressure techniques you can implement on a regular basis to begin increasing your bandwidth for stress from a naturopathic and traditional chinese medicine perspective.

  1. The Benefits of Feeling Terrible: Why You Should Embrace the Suckiness of Life with Elizabeth Wellington

Difficult emotions have gotten a bad reputation. Wellness circles abound with "good vibes only" cliches, convincing us that feeling bad is a bad thing. In this session, we'll investigate how and why forced, toxic positivity is the antithesis of self-care. Join Elizabeth Wellington to explore how feeling bad can foster growth and wellness when done right, and how you can harness the power of bad feelings.
